With a very heavy heart I want to let you all know that K9 King lost his battle with cancer today.
K9 King, Serial No. 289, EOW 01/18/2019 @ 1512 hours.
King was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. With the vet’s approval, King worked until he couldn’t. King went on for a follow up visit last week, where it was discovered that the mass had grown significantly and the cancer had spread. King did not show any change in behavior until this past Monday and Tuesday when he didn’t eat all of his food. King worked last night during joint K9/SWAT training and looked good. Overnight, he took an extreme turn for the worse. King was a happy dog up until the end, and went out the way he deserved to – catching bad guys.
